The Company of Leicester's coat of arms was 1st granted to the city on the Heraldic Visitation of 1619, and is based over the arms of the main Earl of Leicester, Robert Beaumont. The charge can be a cinquefoil ermine, with a crimson field, and this emblem is employed by the city council.
